Who Is Del?
Not PC manufacturer DeLL, I am a 31 year old multi-style guitarist & singer, been playing electric, bass and acoustic guitars, making and performing music since 1992. After early influence from glam rock; Guns 'n' Roses & Extreme, I soon swayed more to the likes of Nirvana, Radiohead and Rage Against The Machine. Recently been getting a taste for Marilyn Manson's more bare-metal range of music.
I first took the role of guitarist with school rock band 'The Tactless Ones' at 15, then started singing and became frontman of 6th Form grunge kings 'Homewrecker', best (and still) known for our controversial performance of 'Creep', 'Come Together' and 'Territorial P**sings' at 6th Form rag week 1995.
Over the last 9 years I have taught guitar lessons in Royston with around 200 people of all ages between 6 & 70, many of whom have come to me with little or no experience of guitars or bass guitars and then with focus and practice Get Into Bands. I don't like to brag or get my statisticts wrong, so I'll just say that I have had a big hand in Royston's current young music scene.
I greatly enjoy passing on a universaly respected and very sociable skill which changed the core of my own social life in my early teens. Everyone who has been there knows those years of 13-16 are quite substantial to the rest of your life, especially on the school stage at the christmas show with your guitar, band & 800 watt PA system in front of 400 of your gob-smacked peers!
