The 5-6-7-8's: WOOHOO

WooHoo is a run of notes that walks up and down a scale known as the Mixolidian Mode which isn't too complicated- it's just an odd name. It is then moved, or ‘Transposed’ up one string from A to D to match chord changes. Very Common.

The arrangement of these changes is in a very common sequence used a lot with early rock. It is known as '12bar blues' and brings back memories of StatusQuo / Elvis / The Blues Brothers.
Letters above the tab are the chords behind the riff. Notice there's 12 of them.

Vital tip: the frets used are all between second and fifth, that's a span of 4 frets and you've got 4 fingers available. Check out my practice tip The Mexican Wave where you use a finger-per-fret and never move your hand.
